This release included a change to the Windows CE driver only.

Release 1.0
This is the initial release for Windows 2000.


2.0  FILE LOCATIONS

2.1 Windows 2000 file locations

3.0  RELEASE NOTES

This README.TXT file applies to the Dual Serial I/O Installation
Disk for Windows 2000 v1.0.

3.1 This software is for use with the following versions of the
Dual I/O Card only:
  Standard   - #8010-00057 - Revision H or above
  Ruggedized - #8010-00077 - Revision C or above

Other versions of the Dual I/O are built into the OS and require
no additional software. 

3.2 Key installation issues:
 a) DO NOT plug the Dual I/O Card in until Install has been run.
 b) If the card is plugged in before Install has been run, it will
    not work. To fix it, do the following:
    - Run the Installer
    - From DEVICE MANAGER, select "Generic Multifunction PC-Card"
    - From the PROPERTIES window, click UPDATE DRIVER
 c) To correctly install the Dual I/O Card, do the following:
    - Run the Installer
    - Plug in the Dual I/O Card    


4.0  UNINSTALL PROCEDURES

4.1 Windows 2000 Uninstall

Under normal operation, it should never be necessary to uninstall
the driver-related files for the Socket Dual I/O card. If you must
remove them, perform the following steps:

  a) In the Control Panel, go to "Add/Remove Hardware" and click
     Next. 
  b) Select "Uninstall/Unplug a device" and click Next. 
  c) Select "Uninstall a Device" and click Next. 
  d) Check the "Show hidden devices" checkbox if it is unchecked,
     then select "Socket Dual I/O (COMx)" in the listbox. 
  e) On the next screen select Yes to confirm the device Removal. 
  f) Click Finish to exit the Wizard. 
  g) Repeat the above steps to remove the second port.

Note: To remove the installation files you need to manually delete 
the following files:

     \WINNT\inf\SktDioCh.inf
     \WINNT\inf\SktDioCh.PNF
     \WINNT\inf\SktDioP.inf
     \WINNT\inf\SktDioP.PNF
